Hi, I'm Kate.
For years, I told other people’s stories, on sets and in edit bays, with brands you’d recognize and teams I still love. But somewhere between a camera lens and spreadsheets, I realized I wanted to make a different kind of life.
One that felt slower. Truer. More mine.
Mom Made Life is where I share what I’m learning about homemaking, systems, and living a season with intention. It’s not polished or perfect, but it’s purposeful.

The Career
My story started with a film production degree and grew into a career I’m proud of. Brands like Johnson & Johnson, Bayer, and Disney trusted me to produce their commercials. I even had the chance to direct Academy Award winners like Helen Mirren and Common and saw my work recognized with honors such as an AAF National Gold, Digiday, and Mosaic Awards.
Those years taught me how to shape a message, lead a team, and bring a vision to life.

The Journey
So how did I get here? Life has a way of rewriting our stories. Mine took an unexpected turn during the pandemic as I navigated a divorce and quietly stepped away from the life I built in Los Angeles. In time, I met a Naval Officer, fell in love, and started again. We made a home in Washington and welcomed twin girls into the world. It’s been a whirlwind. One I didn’t see coming, but one I’m so grateful for.
The Now
Life looks different from my days on set. It’s full of laundry, little feet, schedules, growth charts, grace, and figuring it out as I go. I don’t know if or when I’ll return to the industry. There’s no crystal ball, no five-year plan, just quiet confidence that this is where I’m meant to be.
A season about showing up, stewarding well, and making a life that matters.
Thanks for being here.
